Valentines Colors That Make Your Home Romantic Year Round...

via Chica and Jo blog

Happy Valentine's Day From Garrison Hullinger Interior Design...

Red is heating up the runway as well as the home this February! Using Valentine's as the backdrop for this post, we want to show you some examples of how to seamlessly incorporate pinks and reds into your home interiors without having it look like Valentine’s Day imploded into your space...because no one wants that!

See how you can incorporate the colors of Valentines Day into your home all year long...

Pink Paint In Your Home

Choose a shade of pink for your wall color...

Choose a shade of pink for your wall color, like Benjamin Moore's Bridal Pink (pictured below):

And how fun is this dining room decked in another fun pinky hue...

Contemporary tulip style dining chairs and yellow accents help make this pink dining room feel fresh and modern for everyday use as well as friendly gatherings. I love the bold mix of colors as well as the graphic floral rug in this room as it helps draw your eye from the bottom all the way to the top of the space!

Helpful tip: Add fresh roses, tulips, hydrangeas to any centerpiece for a natural aromatic and welcoming dining room display! Roses and pink peonies are always fun this time of year...

An electric pink wall can seem a little scary, but pair it with crisp white moulding and fun decorative accents can help add a interest to both your room and home. This room, accessorized with eclectic decorative pillows in shades of purple, red, pink and yellow, is both bold and whimsical. The vibrant wall in this room is well balanced with the white cement flooring, jute rug, colorful ceramic Chinese side table and red silhouette bench. I'm in love with all of the pillows in this room and although none of the pillows match, they all work wonderfully together.

Check out a few of my favorite (and affordable) pillows from Joss & Main. Did I mention they make my mouth water more than dark chocolate salted caramels...and that says a lot!

Red Kitchen Cabinetry

Going bold with red in the kitchen...

This kitchen, designed by Niki Kitchen Design has been appropriately named Rexotic Red Kitchen, takes me back to one of our most well known portfolio pieces. Thurman Street Classic Remodel (HYOERLINK THAT) also features a unique, out of the box color on the kitchen cabinetry. I was drawn to our GHID kitchen the same way I was the Rexotic Red Kitchen. I love how the cabinetry color works to enhance the rest of the space. Look at the red kitchen for example, I love the way the green accessories and plant pops agains the modern black countertop and red paint on the cabinets. Painting your cabinets a bold color, like a red, presents a nice feature to any room, you don't have to do much more with the sapce to make it a statement room in your home. Niki Kitchen Design's Rexotic Red Kitchen takes me back to our extremely fun and successful Thurman Street classic remodel, because of the unique cabinet color choice. I personally was drawn to this room because of the way the green accessories and plant pop against the modern black countertop and red cabinetry.

Red Walls in a Living Room

Keeping it classy with red and grey...

Pink Chevron

Romantic with chevron...

Everyone loves chevron, particularly on their walls either stenciled or wallpapered. For this room above, you can romanticize your chevron a bit by incorporating an antique half moon entry table and beautiful potted red geraniums. Check out some fabulous Holli Zollinger pink and red chevron wallpaper (below).

Fall in love with romantic red and pink in the bedroom

Intense reds and pinks for a sexy bedroom...

This room screams feminine, which I must say isn't such a bad thing, because it's easy on the eyes. The intense reds, pinks and magentas in this room create a color scheme that is sexy and contemporary. Doesn't it make you think that if Carrie Bradshaw wasn't on such a tight journalist budget she would've designed a room like this?

Too bold for your taste?

If painting a wall pink or installing red cabinetry is too bold for your taste, but you love those colors and want them in your space, there's a solution! Creating an atmosphere that isn't quite as bold, but is still inviting can be easy by purchasing some of the below home decor accessories.
