This family had lived in their beautiful 1920’s Portland Foursquare home for a few years but wanted to give their home a fresh look and create some additional storage.
Our interior decorating vision for this historic home started in the entry; we knew the house had good bones and just needed some new flavor true to the family occupying this old beauty. We added repeating geometric pattered wallpaper to the walls and created a custom broad-loomed entry rug that mimicked the pattern on the walls. To add more drama to the space we added a custom runner that created a bold statement from the moment you open the front door. Our storage solutions started in the entry with a place for shoes and other daily necessities. We then added new built-in units in the dining room and living room. Understated elegance rules in the dining room, with simple but refined sconces adding balance to the interior décor. We created a living room that makes you want to linger…featuring the contrasts of old and new, smooth and rough textures, and a mix of both grand and humble objects with original artwork.
