When we first met this young, vibrant couple they were in the planning stages of having a family, so we knew we knew we had to create a comfortable design for a growing family.
The home had recently been through a kitchen remodel and much of the home had been updated with new windows and other renovations. Our interior design task was to add the flavor of a family by bringing life to the home with new upholstery items, reconfiguring the seating arrangement and how best to use the open concept of the dining room and living room. While working with this family we kept our focus on using family-friendly fabrics and finishes that would hold up to the daily rigors of the family. Even though the couple is young and hip their home is an early 1920’s Foursquare and they wanted to have a mix of traditional and updated living spaces. After determining the space plans and the fabrics for the furniture, we then set our eyes on the main piece of original art for the space. We brought in a few pieces from a local gallery source and then found the perfect piece for the mantel.
