Not a single surface in this home was left untouched. To begin with we wanted to make sure that even the refurbishment of all the wood throughout the home had a certain patina you’d find in a hundred year old home. The living room of this 1901 Craftsman is elegant and refined, with a dark brown sofa providing the main contrast among soft, tonal hues. The subtle geometric fabrics keep the small space from looking busy, especially the warm, vegetable-dyed Oushak rug. Minimal curtain rods elongate the classic-style drapes, which match the wall paint and bring focus to the wonderful, original windows.

This kitchen feels fresh, modern and luxurious, yet classic. A mixture of metals helps create the sense of old and new, with flat iron metal pieces on the doors, brass nail heads in the backsplash, and brass faucets and knobs on the La Cornue stove, which is emphasized by the matching custom hood. Concetto’s CaesarStone agate countertops reflect light from both the windows and the whimsical Murano glass and crystal chandelier. Cabinet skins on all the appliances create a sense of unity, while a Suzani rug ties the room together with a grounding pattern.
